A More Serious Game: The US Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon

SeriousWindows Wins at Solar DecathlonThrough to October 21,  the U.S. Department of Energy is hosting this year’s Solar Decathlon in Washington D.C. - a competition in which 20 teams of college and university students compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house.

Team California and Team North get a little more SERIOUS this year, using SeriousWindows to help make their offering standout from the pack.  According to current standings, the only undergraduate team, Team California (a collaboration team from Santa Clara University and California College of the Arts), is in a hot 2nd place. Team North is close on their heels in 4th.

Team California already was awarded 1st place in Architecture and Communications categories.
Check out their blog for the latest on the competition and here is the official DOE’s tracking of the Solar Decathalon leaderboard, updated every 15 minutes.
